Hospital Shalom is a not-for-profit missionary hospital located in San Benito, Peten, Guatemala, five miles from the International Airport Mundo Maya and 35 miles from the ancient Mayan ruins of Tikal.
Constructed by New Covenant World Missions and operated by the Asociaccion Esperanza y Sanidad para las Nacciones, Hospital Shalom provides world class medical attention to some of the most pvoery stricken people of the Americas.
Shalom opened in 2006 after a a decade-long project involving various human aid organizations and ministries coming together and staying the course, despite overwhelming odds.
Shalom's mission is to ensure that some of the most poverty-striken people in the Americas will have access to superior health care. The hospital serves the need of people not only in Guatemala, but in Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, and Mexico, as well.

In 2008, we provided outpatient care to 9,937 people, surgical care to 162 patients and delivered 21 babies. During the past three years, more than 20,000 people have received treatment at Hospital Shalom.
